Sam Stern has been an attorney for more than 43 years. He practices primarily in the area of business law, representing a range of clients from entrepreneurs to “mom and pop” operations to large corporations. Sam’s practice consists largely of advising clients regarding general business issues, business organization, contracts, employment issues and real estate matters.
Prior to his election to the Board, Sam served as general counsel to the Hurdles Foundation. Sam also serves on the Board of TruStone Financial Credit Union, a $3.8 billion financial institution, and is Chairman of the Board of the TruStone Financial Foundation, a nonprofit promoting education through scholarships and supporting organizations benefitting communities in Minnesota and Wisconsin through direct donations.
Sam grew up in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. He lives with his wife Deb on a horse farm in Independence, Minnesota. He is blessed with two children and five grandchildren and looks forward each year to June and July when three of his grandchildren trade the heat of Phoenix for summer on the farm.
Besides his volunteer work with the Hurdles Foundation and TruStone, Sam is active in the Minnetonka Rotary Club, participates in a reading mentoring program in North Minneapolis, and is an avid photographer.
